NEXT-GENERATION NETWORKING GROUP

Welcome to the Next-Generation Networking Group's home page.

The Next-Generation Networking Group's (NG²) research is targeted toward architecture, control, management and reconfiguration of all optical networks suitable for the multimedia telecommunications infrastructure of the 21st century. It explores both the capabilities and performance limitations of networks which are based primarily on wavelength-division multiplexing with transparent wavelength-selective routing, and stresses the creation of algorithms for traffic-driven user connectivity subject to equipment-limited connectivity at the optical layer and to the effects of equipment failure and recovery.
